The CityX turned the XB9S into an urban supermoto-style machine with higher bars, hand guards, a headlight grille, a taller seat and chunkier Pirelli Scorpion tyres. Mechanically it kept the 984 cc twin of the Lightning, with cosmetic and ride-height changes aimed at city use.
